New Equipment
Following a generous donation to the young people of the Parish I have purchased a home projector with a stand and spare bulb. Total cost was just over £300. There is enough left over to buy a flat screen TV. This projector can take all gaming machines and laptop etc. This means we can also show videos quite easily. The projector has built in speakers and is transportable. This technology will be put to good use during Children’s Liturgy,Youth events and Parish activities initiated by the young people.
I have put together a rough and ready DVD which I will be sending to Sarah from CAFOD as she is shortly to visit El Salvador. It carries greetings from St Wilfrids. We can of course make a better one in the future (over the summer).
Fr Rory will be attending St Richards school on 15th Feb for a lunchtime event with all the young people from Hailsham/Polegate (Church attenders or not). I will be there and will explain our CAFOD project and show them the El Salvador video. Fr Rory hopes we can start a sub committee of the CAFOD project at the School. At this event I will announce a ‘Bring and Share’ night in the Parish (6.45pm after school holidays either Tues/Wed/ Thurs.)
Fr Rory will be taking his place on the School Friday Mass rota and will be saying Mass on the 11th and 25th March.
I would appreciate an idea of the best night to run the ’Bring and Share’ event - 29 Feb,1st or 2nd March.
I will be looking for volunteers this week to visit our elderly benefactor and thank her for the donation.
I will bring a copy of the DVD which we are sending to Children’s Liturgy this Sunday to show on a laptop.
(These photos show some of our altar servers and young people enjoying a day out together.)
