This year we had one First Communicant at St.Wilfrids Church.  First Communion preparation was carried out by the allocated parent with support from a mentor from the Children’s Liturgy team.  Although there was only one child receiving Holy Communion for the first time the Church was decorated to the same high standard and the service was a lovely Parish-centred event. The parents send a heartfelt thanks to the members of the community  who arranged the Altar, set the Order of Service and gave cards and gifts. Particular thanks to David Hoad for taking some lovely pictures which are on display on the website and also to Annette Wake’s family for their support. This was a special day enjoyed by all.

The following week we had the traditional breakfast in the Parish Hall for the children of the Parish. One of the hallmarkss of our community is that everything we do is shared by all as far as possible, young and old, visitors and regulars. Everyone is very welcome.
