CAFOD is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and part of the Caritas International Federation.

In 1960, members of the National Board of Catholic Women, Catholis Women’s League and Union of Catholic Mothers raised money for poor and hungry people on the other side of the world.  their inspired idea to organise a Fast Day is still bearing fruit today.

Fifty years on CAFOD we are honoured to continue their work of linking Catholic communities in England and Wales with poor communities worldwide.
