Fr. Rory writes:

Unbelievable!

Recently I rang home to one of my brother’s families and my sister-in-law Eleanor answered; “You just caught us in, as we were about to go out the door. Our friend Fr. Martin has just rang with the sad news that his brother Tom has died.” They were on the way out to ‘the corpse’ house. Well I was in the seminary with Fr. Martin and his brother Fr. Pat, we were all ordained about the same time, but it was when she said Tom was nearly seventy I couldn’t believe it. I remember when they were young. Time flies; so it is important to make the most of it.

So, with Golden Jubilees, special anniversaries and birthdays and many more coming events let us prepare to celebrate. An event to be especially celebrated is the passing of Anita Armstrong. She will always be at the top of the top of the most interesting persons I have ever met. I am so happy to say that one of the last things I said to her was “you will never see death”. I believe it – she truly entered into life as she always had, and now she has entered into the Kingdom of God.

With love and prayers to you all, Fr. Rory.
