Father Rory Writes

An Occasion Of Joy.

The Robin Post Singers provided lovely entertainment with their concert ‘Music for Spring’. Considering the weather was so nice, I have to admit, it would not be my first choice of event, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, I enjoyed the concert so much, I had no regrets whatsoever, in fact I expressed a sense of pity it had come to an end, and sadness that it is so rare we have these occasions.

My brief visit to the St George’s day quiz night underlined why they scare me, I managed to deprive my team of two correct answers. Why did I open my mouth? I went with the full intention of, as the northern peoplesay it, keeping stum.

The good news from St. George’s is that the work to the car park is finished and paid for. Hailsham Roadways Contractors have a reputation for good work, and it has been suggested that we ask them back to mark out spaces, and allocate places for weddings and funerals.

Last week, I mentioned that we have re-aligned the St Wilfrid’s Project Management Team, to work with Deacon Aidan. The team members are Brian Winter, Bob Waters, Ann Fielder, Mary Van Breda and Geoff Stone. Please God they will have good news soon.

God Bless and keep you always.
